The last few days have been unsteady to say the least for the SDLAN server. After three years of near continuous running on a really old version of Gentoo (circa November 2006) it was decided to update the server to take advantage of some new technologies... and to see just how much self inflicted pain could be managed.

The server is now back up and running a fresh install of Ubuntu Server Edition 9.10. The goal is to eventually implement a full virtualization system based on Virtualbox. Unfortunately at this time the server only has 512 megs of RAM and this is not sufficient enough for doing any sort of real virtualization. Hopefully soon we will be upgrading to a gig or more and solve these problems.
